Event Information:

For over 25 years, Ironman Australian has been a qualifying event for the Ford Ironman World Championship, held in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii each October. It also serves as the NSW's State Ultra Distance Championship triathlon, and as such is the grand finale of the annual competition for the Greg Welch Trophy.

Port Macquarie, on the picturesque Mid North Coast of New South Wales, is the host venue for Urban Hotel Group Ironman Australia. Port Macquarie is a beachside city, accessible by air from Sydney and Brisbane, and by road from Sydney and Newcastle. There will be 40 age group qualifying slots to the Ford Ironman World Championship on offer at Ironman Australia 2011.

An Ironman Triathlon is one of a series of long-distance triathlon races organized by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) consisting of a 2.4-mile (3.86 km) swim, a 112-mile (180.25 km) bike and a marathon (26.2 miles 42.195 km) run, raced in that order and without a break. Commonwealth Games 2010 Live Online Coverage

Despite controversy over conditions in the athlete village and some of the facilities, the organising committee are pushing ahead with what they hope will be one of the most successful games yet.

This feed will provide live coverage from Delhi throughout the Commonwealth Games:

Commonwealth Games Live Feed

The 2010 Commonwealth Games are the nineteenth Commonwealth Games, and the ninth to be held under that name. The Games are scheduled to be held in Delhi, India between 3 October and 14 October 2010. The games will be the largest multi-sport event conducted to date in Delhi and India generally, which has previously hosted the Asian Games in 1951 and 1982. The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi. It will also be the first time the Commonwealth Games will be held in India and the second time the event has been held in Asia (after 1998 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia).

In preparation for an influx of English-speaking tourists for the Games, the Delhi government is implementing a program to teach English, and the necessary skills for serving tourists, to key workers – such as cab drivers, security workers, waiters, porters, and service staff. In the two years prior to the Games 2,000 drivers were taught English. The program aims to teach 1,000 people English per month in the hope of reaching all key workers by March 2010. In addition to Delhi, the Indian Government plans to expand the program to teach people in local tourist destinations in other parts of India.

Location Information:

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a steel through arch bridge across Sydney Harbour that carries rail, vehicular and pedestrian traffic between the Sydney central business district (CBD) and the North Shore. The dramatic view of the bridge, the harbour, and the nearby Sydney Opera House is an iconic image of both Sydney and Australia. The bridge is locally nicknamed "The Coat Hanger" because of its arch-based design.

The bridge was designed and built by Dorman Long and Co Ltd, Middlesbrough Teesside and Cleveland Bridge, Darlington, County Durham and opened in 1932. Until 1967 it was the city's tallest structure.[citation needed] According to Guinness World Records, it is the world's widest long-span bridge and it is the tallest steel arch bridge, measuring 134 metres (440 ft) from top to water level.[citation needed] It is also the fifth-longest spanning-arch bridge in the world.
