Modeled after Germany’s annual Love Parade, the San Francisco LovEvolution has grown year after year and continues to build worldwide recognition.

The SF LovEvolution community by and large remains 'underground' in U.S. pop culture due to very little support from radio and MTV, etc. The intentions of the San Francisco LovEvolution organization is to make the event a platform for dance music to reach more ears in America and beyond, to carry a message of love and hope, to be a vehicle for helping organizations doing good in the world

San Francisco LovEvolution (formerly San Francisco LoveFest) is a technoparade and festival that occurs annually in San Francisco in late September and early October. The parade includes 28 floats and starts at San Francisco's 2nd and Market Streets. The parade continues all the way to San Francisco Civic Center Plaza for a giant outdoor dance club with famous DJs. The 2008 parade drew over 120,000 people.

Event Information:

Every year thousands of people will go and follow the Parade and then participate in the evening events. The Parade typically starts at parc Mon Repos, on the right side of Lake Geneva. People wishing to participate actively in the Parade, by being on one of the Lovemobiles, should be there at 2:00 PM if they want a chance to get on one of the mobiles.

The Parade starts moving at around 4:00 PM and moves slowly along the quay to the other side of the lake right up to the Quai Gustave Ador. There the Parade stops and the night continues with the Lake Sensation. Every year there are up to 20 Lovemobiles. Generally each one is sponsored by a different company who decorates the Mobile with its colors. Pioneer once decorated a Mobile using large plasma displays. Each Mobile will generally have several DJs but who shall often play the same kind of music, the most common ones being Techno, Trance, Electro and House. The company sponsoring the Mobile can also insist that those wishing to ride on it wear a certain color theme so as to give a uniform look to the car.

Lake Geneva or Lake Léman (French: Lac Léman, Léman, German: Genfersee) is a lake in Switzerland and France. Lake Geneva, formed by a retreating glacier, has a crescent shape that narrows around Yvoire on the southern shore. It can thus be divided figuratively into the "Grand Lac" (Large Lake) to the east and the "Petit Lac" (Small Lake) to the west. The Chablais Alps border its southern shore, the western Bernese Alps lie over its eastern side. The high summits of Grand Combin and Mont Blanc are visible from some places. Compagnie Générale de Navigation sur le lac Léman (CGN) operates boats on the lake.

Held in the picturesque setting of an 18th century fortress by the Danube, the festival quickly grew in stature and reputation. From its grass roots political beginnings, over to occasional problems with financing, and ending with wide praise it's lately receiving, Exit tries to stick to its initial mission of providing relevant entertainment to Serbian youth while also bringing pertinent social topics to the forefront

.The festival was started in 2000 by three University students from Novi Sad, Dusan Kovacevic, Bojan Boskovic, and Ivan Milivojev. In 2000 and 2001 the festival was organized through the Students' Union of Faculty of Technical Sciences and University of Novi Sad. In the meantime several NGO's and commercial companies have been involved in the organization. Since 2007, the festival has been a subject of several official and unofficial takeover bids.

UK Festival Awards 2007, together with Yourope, the European Association of the 40 largest festivals in Europe, awarded Exit as the Best European Festival. Public from all over the world voted for about a month, and among 10 festivals, Exit won this award that is being awarded for the first time in the category of the Best European Festival. Caribbean Carnival is the term used for a number of events that take place in many of the Caribbean islands annually. The Caribbean's Carnivals all have several common themes all originating from Trinidad and Tobago Carnival, based on folklore, culture, religion,and tradition, not on amusement rides. Carnival tradition is based on a number of disciplines including: "Playing Mas"/Masquerade; Calypso Music and crowning a Calypso King or Monarch; Panorama (Steel Band Competition); Jouvert morning; and a number of other traditions.

Georgia Avenue is a major north-south artery in Northwest Washington, D.C. and Montgomery County, Maryland. Both Howard University and Walter Reed Army Medical Center are located on Georgia Avenue.

The San Francisco Bay Area Carnaval season begins in February as the great Western hemisphere Carnaval celebrations are concluding. The four Carnaval Cities with the greatest influence and presence in the San Francisco Carnaval are Port of Spain, Trinidad; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Salvador, Brazil; and Oruro, Bolivia. As a parade, Carnaval San Francisco is most recognized for its spectacular choreographed dancers and scantily clad beautiful women. The Inner Mission District with two BART stations supports the Bay Area's highest concentration of dance studios and instructors. The parade, whilst featuring many in the community with a penchant for exotic costumes and dance music, has always retained a political edge, with often witty visual commentary on their political opponents featuring in the floats. As it became more and more accepted in the wider community, more gay representatives of community groups and organisations have taken part in the parade, including the police force. Each parade starts with about 200 on bikes riding up Oxford Street. It is often accompanied by fireworks displays, which are launched from the rooftops of buildings along the parade route.

The post parade party is one the largest ongoing party events in the country. Mardi Gras Party attendances at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion / Royal Hall of Industries peaked in 1998 with 27,000 tickets sold. The purpose of carnival is for samba schools to compete with fellow rival schools; this competition is the climax of the whole carnival festival. Each school chooses a theme to try and portray in their entry. The samba schools work to build the best floats and costumes to represent their themes, and to include the best music they can from their band called the bateria. There are many parts to each school's entry including the six to eight floats and thousands of participants.

As the parade is taking place in the Sambadrome and the balls are being held in the Copacabana Palace and beach, many of the carnival participants are at other locations. Street festivals are very common during carnival and are highly populated by the locals. Elegance and extravagance are usually left behind, but music and dancing are still extremely common. Anyone is allowed to participate in the street festivals. Bandas and bondos are very familiar with the street carnival especially because it takes nothing to join in on the fun except to jump in. One of the most well known bandas of Rio is Banda de Ipanema. Banda de Ipanema was first created in 1965 and is known as Rio’s most irreverent street band. The samba is the main dance of Rio Carnival but it is not performed in silence. Music is another major aspect of all parts of carnival. Germans call New Year's Eve Silvester because 31 December is the feast day of St. Sylvester. Since 1972, each New Year's Eve, several German television stations broadcast a short comedy play in English (recorded by West German television in 1963) entitled Dinner for One.
