Old Trafford Webcam, Manchester United Football Stadium Live View

Old Trafford Webcam, Manchester United Football Stadium

Old Trafford is an all-seater football stadium in the Trafford borough of Greater Manchester, England, and the home of Premier League club Manchester United. With space for 75,957 spectators, Old Trafford has the second-largest capacity of any English football stadium after Wembley Stadium, the third-largest of any stadium in the United Kingdom, and the eleventh-largest in Europe. The stadium is approximately 0.5 miles (0.8 km) from Old Trafford Cricket Ground and the adjacent Manchester Metrolink tram station.

The ground, given the nickname the Theatre of Dreams by Bobby Charlton, has been United's permanent residence since 1910, with the exception of an eight-year absence from 1941 to 1949, following the bombing of the stadium in the Second World War. During this period, the club shared Maine Road with local rivals, Manchester City. The ground underwent several expansions in the 1990s and 2000s, most notably the addition of extra tiers to the North, West and East stands which served to return the ground almost to its original capacity of 80,000. Future expansion is likely to involve the addition of a second tier to the South Stand, which would raise the capacity to over 90,000. The stadium's current record attendance was recorded in 1939, when 76,962 spectators watched the FA Cup semi-final between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Grimsby Town.

The ground has frequently hosted FA Cup semi-final matches as a neutral venue and several England international fixtures while the new Wembley Stadium was under construction. It also hosted matches at the 1966 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 1996, as well as the 2003 UEFA Champions League Final. Aside from football-related uses, Old Trafford has hosted rugby league's Super League Grand Final since the league's adoption of playoffs in 1998 and the final of the 2000 Rugby League World Cup.

Chelsea Football Club Webcam - Live Stamford Bridge View

Stamford Bridge is a football stadium in Fulham, in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, west London, that is home to Chelsea Football Club. The stadium is located within the Moore Park Estate also known as Walham Green. It is nicknamed "The Bridge" by the club's supporters. The capacity is 41,841, making it the seventh largest ground in the Premier League and the smallest amongst the so-called big four clubs. KSS Design Group (architects) designed the complete redevelopment of Stamford Bridge Stadium and its hotels, megastore, offices and residential buildings.

'Stamford Bridge' is considered to be a corruption of 'Samfordesbrigge' meaning 'the bridge at the sandy ford'. Eighteenth century maps show a 'Stanford Creek' running along the route of what is now a railway line at the back of the East Stand as a tributary of the Thames. The upper reaches of this tributary have been variously known as Billingswell Ditch, Pools Creek and Counters Creek. In mediaeval times the Creek was known as Billingwell Dyche, derived from 'Billing's spring or stream'. It formed the boundary between the parishes of Kensington and Fulham. By the eighteenth century the creek had become known as Counter's Creek which is the name it has retained since.

The stream had two local bridges: Stanford Bridge on the Fulham Road (also recorded as Little Chelsea Bridge) and Stanbridge on the Kings Road, now known as Stanley Bridge. The existing Stamford Bridge was built of brick in 1860–2 and has been partly reconstructed since then.

Hollywood Boulevard Webcam - Live Walk of Fame View

Hollywood Boulevard is a boulevard in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, United States, beginning at Sunset Boulevard in the east and running northwest to Vermont Avenue, where it straightens out and runs due west to Laurel Canyon Boulevard. West of Laurel Canyon it continues as a small residential street in the hills, finally ending at Sunset Plaza Drive. On the east side of Hollywood Boulevard it passes through the neighborhoods of Little Armenia and Thai Town.

The famous street was named Prospect Avenue from 1887 to 1910, when the town of Hollywood was annexed to the city of Los Angeles. After annexation, the street numbers changed from 100 Prospect Avenue, at Vermont Avenue, to 6400 Hollywood Boulevard. In 1946 Gene Autry rode his horse in the Hollywood Christmas parade and was inspired by the children yelling "Here comes Santa Claus, Here comes Santa Claus," to write the song "Here Comes Santa Claus" along with Oakley Haldeman. Then, the boulevard was nicknamed "Santa Claus Lane". The Hollywood Christmas Parade passes down Hollywood Boulevard every Sunday after Thanksgiving.

In 1958, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which runs from Gower Street to La Brea Avenue, was created as a tribute to artists working in the entertainment industry. The Walk of Fame recognizes such celebrities and icons as Walt Disney, Michael Jackson, Hugh Hefner, and many more. (The Walk runs for an additional 3 blocks on Vine Street.)

Grauman's Chinese Theatre is a movie theater located at 6925 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood. It is located along the historic Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Chinese Theatre was commissioned following the success of the nearby Grauman's Egyptian Theatre which opened in 1922.

Killarney Webcam, Live Irish Open Golf View

The Irish Open, the only event on the gold Pro Tour to be played in Ireland, is taking place this weekend at a new venue, moving from Adare Golf Club in Limerick to the Killarney Club.

This live view comes live from the course itself, as the tournament enters it's second day.

The Irish Open is a European Tour golf tournament which is currently played in May each year. It was first played in 1927 and continued until 1950, when the tournament experienced financial problems. Except for a single event, held in 1953, there was a 25 year hiatus until the Irish Open returned in 1975.

Adare Golf Club, part of the Adare Manor Hotel and Golf Resort in County Limerick had planned to host the tournament for 3 years from 2007 to 2009, however in January 2009 it was announced that they could no longer sustain the losses incurred by hosting the event for a third year. In early March, the European Tour confirmed the national championship would return to County Louth Golf Club, Baltray, venue in 2004, with a new sponsor, 3 Mobile.

Buñol (Valencian: Bunyol) is a town and municipality in the province of Valencia, Spain. The municipality has an area of some 112 km², and is situated approximately 38 km west of the provincial and autonomous community capital city, Valencia. It lies along the Buñol River and is surrounded by the mountain ranges La Sierra de Las Cabrillas, la Sierra de Dos Aguas and la Sierra de Malacara y Martés.

The municipal local economic base is a mixture of the industrial and the agricultural (carob trees, almond trees, fruit trees, olive trees and grapes.

Archaeological evidence indicates civilization in Buñol going back 50,000 years.[citation needed] Buñol's population is about 9,000 people but is visited by over 30,000 for La Tomatina: a tomato throwing event in the Plaza del Pueblo. On the last Wednesday of every August, thousands of people gather in the Plaza and throw metric tons of over ripe tomatoes at each other.

Buñol has regional rail passenger service to Valencia via the RENFE system. On August 29, 2007, 40,000 Spaniards gathered in the town to throw 115,000 kilograms of tomatoes at each other in the yearly Tomatina festival. Bare-chested tourists also included hundreds of British, French, and Germans

Dracula's Castle Webcam - Live view of Bran Castle, Romania

Dracula's Castle Webcam, Bran, Brasov

Bran Castle (German: Törzburg; Hungarian: Törcsvár), situated near Bran and in the immediate vicinity of Braşov, is a national monument and landmark in Romania. The fortress is situated on the border between Transylvania and Wallachia, on DN73. Commonly known as "Dracula's Castle" (although it is one among several locations linked to the Dracula legend, including Poienari Castle and Hunyad Castle), it is marketed as the home of the titular character in Bram Stoker's Dracula. There is, however, no evidence that Stoker knew anything about this castle. There is evidence, however, that Vlad Tepes actually did use the castle during his raids into Transylvania.

The castle is now a museum open to tourists, displaying art and furniture collected by Queen Marie. Tourists can see the interior individually or by a guided tour. At the bottom of the hill is a small open air museum park exhibiting traditional Romanian peasant structures (cottages, barns, etc.) from across the country.

The Bran fortress was built on a cliff between Magura and The Hill of the Fortress, its position conferring an outstanding view towards both the hills of Moeciu and the ones from the Land of Bârsa. The building of the fortress was imposed by strategic and economic reasons. The strategic reasons underlined by the expansion of the Ottoman Empire which, by the end of the XIV century, began threatening the south-eastern borders of Transylvania; the economic reasons, given by the fact that the commercial road, one of the most important access ways connecting Transylvania to Wallachia, crossed this area. All these reasons determined the Hungarian king Louis I of Anjou to develop strengthening works of the Bran pass.

Another legend, popularized in the song Santa Claus Is Coming to Town, says that he makes a list of children throughout the world, categorizing them according to their behavior ("naughty" or "nice") and that he delivers presents, including toys, candy, and other gifts to all of the good boys and girls in the world, and sometimes coal to the naughty children, on the single night of Christmas Eve. He accomplishes this feat with the aid of the elves who make the toys in the workshop and the reindeer who pull his sleigh.

Belfast Webcam - Orange Order March 2010

Belfast City Hall, looking out at Donegall Square North and Donegall Place

A feature of the summer in Northern Ireland are the various marches that take place in the country.

Orange walks are a series of parades held annually by members of the Orange Order during the summer in Northern Ireland, to a lesser extent in Scotland, and occasionally in England, the Republic of Ireland, and throughout the Commonwealth. These typically build up to the 12 July celebrations which mark Prince William of Orange's victory over King James II at the Battle of the Boyne in 1690. Although the term 'march' or 'parade' is widely used in the media, the Order prefers terms such as 'walk' or 'demonstration'.

The main march through Belfast on the 12th July will be covered by this webcam view, from Belfast City Hall, looking out at Donegall Square North and Donegall Place

Vatican City Webcam, Rome, Italy

St Peter's Square in Vatican City

Saint Peter's Square (Italian: Piazza San Pietro) is located directly in front of St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City, the papal enclave within Rome. The open space which lies before the basilica was redesigned by Gian Lorenzo Bernini from 1656 to 1667, under the direction of Pope Alexander VII, as an appropriate forecourt, designed "so that the greatest number of people could see the Pope give his blessing, either from the middle of the façade of the church or from a window in the Vatican Palace" (Norwich 1975 p 175). Bernini had been working on the interior of St. Peter's for decades; now he gave order to the space with his renowned colonnades, using the Tuscan form of Doric, the simplest order in the classical vocabulary, not to compete with the palace-like façade by Carlo Maderno, but he employed it on an unprecedented colossal scale to suit the space and evoke emotions of awe.

Oktoberfest is a 16-day festival held each year in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, running from late September to early October. It is one of the most famous events in Germany and the world's largest fair, with some six million people attending every year. The Oktoberfest is an important part of Bavarian culture. Other cities across the world also hold Oktoberfest celebrations, modeled after the Munich event.

The Munich Oktoberfest, traditionally, takes place during the sixteen days up to and including the first Sunday in October. In 1994, the schedule was modified in response to German reunification so that if the first Sunday in October falls on the 1st or 2nd, then the festival will go on until October 3 (German Unity Day). Thus, the festival is now 17 days when the 1st Sunday is October 2 and 18 days when it is October 1. The festival is held on an area named the Theresienwiese (field, or meadow, of Therese), often called d’ Wiesn for short.

Live webcam on The Royal Mile, Edinburgh

The Royal Mile, scene of Edinburgh Festival

The Royal Mile is a succession of streets which form the main thoroughfare of the Old Town of the city of Edinburgh in Scotland.

As the name suggests, the Royal Mile is approximately one Scots mile long, and runs between two foci of history in Scotland, from Edinburgh Castle at the top of the Castle Rock down to Holyrood Abbey. The streets which make up the Royal Mile are (west to east) Castle Esplanade, Castlehill, Lawnmarket, High Street, Canongate and Abbey Strand. The Royal Mile is Edinburgh Old Town's busiest tourist street, rivalled only by Princes Street in the New Town. During the annual Edinburgh Festival, the High Street becomes the city's central focus, and is crowded with tourists, entertainers and buskers. On the left is the High Court of Justiciary, Scotland's supreme criminal court. On the right, about one-third of the way down from the Castle toward the Palace is Parliament Square, named after the old Parliament House which housed both the law courts and the old Parliament of Scotland between the 1630s and 1707 (when it was adjourned by the Act of Union) Parliament House is now the home of the Court of Session, Scotland's supreme civil court. St Giles Cathedral, the High Kirk of Edinburgh, also stands in Parliament Square.

Summit of the Zugspitze, towards Alpspitze, site of the Alpspix viewing tower

One of the more popular ski resorts in the alpine region on Bavaria, the Zugsptize and Alpspitze mountains have been enhanced by a new attraction.

Visitors can enjoy a mountain experience with a difference from the observation deck AlpspiX. At the foot of Alpspitze steel arms extend both in the form of an "X" 13 meter free-floating over the abyss - once prone and once down the sky towards the direction of the Zugspitze.

There is a series of webcam views of the area, allowing remote viewing of this dramatic scene.

The view from Siesta Key, one of the famous Florida Keys, shows a tranquil and peaceful scene, with no sign of the tar balls that have been appearing elsewhere. Independence Day on Capitol Hill

It's that time of year again, when the whole American nation stops to celebrate their independence - the 4th of July is here!

Where better to celebrate Independence Day than in the US capital. After a parade featuring 100 marching units along Constitution Avenue, the popular music begins. There's a programme of renowned performers, before the day ends with a firework display.

Watch the bands, balloons and flamboyant floats pass by in the National Independence Day Parade, starting at the National Archives Building on Pennsylvania Avenue and heading down Constitution Avenue between 7th and 17th Streets. Bring an American flag and admire cheerleaders dressed from head to toe in red, white and blue chanting until their voices are hoarse.

The open-air concert on the West Lawn of the iconic US Capitol Building is a real show business affair, the line-up reading like a Who's Who of who's hot. Expect anyone from Olympic champions to chart-topping singers. Past guest performers have ranged from Dolly Parton and Ray Charles to Elmo, America's beloved fluffy red Muppet.

My World Webcams provides a live webcam view of events, so you can watch remotely form wherever you are in the world:

Washington DC Capitol Hill, the Washington Monument, Union Square, and the Capitol Mall.

It's the next best thing to being there yourself, and you won't have to sit in the traffic jams to get home afterwards.

Mote Marine Laboratory is an independent not-for-profit marine research organization based on City Island in Sarasota, Fla.
