The Giants' victory over the Phillies gave them their fourth World Series appearance ever since relocating to San Francisco before the 1958 season; their most recent appearance was in the 2002 World Series, when they lost to the Anaheim Angels in seven games.

The Korean Grand Prix is a planned Formula One race to be held in South Korea. After months of speculation, on October 2, 2006 it was confirmed that the event would actually take place in 2010, and would be hosted by the Korean International Circuit, set to be built between 2007 and July 2010. It has also been revealed that the race will be promoted by a public-private company. The deal is for seven years with a five year option that would ensure the race to be held until 2021
Despite this earlier confirmation, the South Korean Grand Prix was not included on any of the provisional 2010 calendars floated by Formula One Management. Following approval of funding for the event, however, Korea was given the date of 17 October on the 2010 calendar published by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) on 21 September 2009.
On December 10, 2009, the organisers of the event announced that they were on schedule, with a plan to finish the circuit on July 5, 2010, though they admitted that their largest problem lay in finding accommodation for all Formula One staff and spectators. The organisers also ruled out the possibility of staging the race at night until they have more knowledge of and experience in running a Grand Prix

Señoritas and Caballeros is a perfect setting for an ISA event as there are both perfect and consistent left and right pointbreaks that work at the same time and are close to each other. The breaks are located in the famous surfing town of Punta Hermosa, which also has the necessary infrastructure to hold an event of this magnitude.
The Peruvian Surfing Federation is accustomed to organizing world-class surfing events including a historic ISA World Masters Surfing Championship in 2008 that had perfect six-foot waves every single day. In addition, they organized a successful edition of the Pan American Surfing Games in 2006 and have hosted a stop for the ASP Women’s World Tour since 2007. For the second year in a row, leading surf wear brand Billabong will be the title sponsor of this enormous Olympic Style event.
The International Surfing Association (ISA) is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the World Governing Authority for Surfing. It was originally founded as the International Surfing Federation in 1964 and has been running world championships since 1964 and the Junior World Championships since 1980.

The Hollywood Premiere of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Live in LA on Hollywood Boulevard - 14th November 2010.
You can watch the starts arrive for the premiere here:
Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels written by the British author J. K. Rowling. The books chronicle the adventures of the adolescent wizard Harry Potter and his best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, all of whom are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The main story arc concerns Harry's quandary involving the evil wizard Lord Voldemort, who killed Harry's parents in his quest to conquer the wizarding world and subjugate non-magical people (Muggles).
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the seventh and final of the Harry Potter novels written by British author J. K. Rowling. The book was released on 21 July 2007, ending the series that began in 1997 with the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. This book chronicles the events directly following Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2005), and leads to the long-awaited final confrontation between Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort.
The Baltimore Sun's critic, Mary Carole McCauley, praised the series as "a classic bildungsroman, or coming-of-age tale." She noted that the book was more serious than the previous novels in the series and had more straightforward prose. Furthermore, reviewer Alice Fordham from The Times writes that "Rowling’s genius is not just her total realisation of a fantasy world, but the quieter skill of creating characters that bounce off the page, real and flawed and brave and lovable." Fordham concludes, "We have been a long way together, and neither Rowling nor Harry let us down in the end." New York Times writer Michiko Kakutani agrees, praising Rowling's ability to make Harry both a hero and a character that can be related to.
The event has been known by other titles, which are shown in the Winners section below. In 2009, the purse will be $4,200,000, with a $756,000 first prize. In 2002, under a previous sponsor, the purse was $5,000,000 ($900,000 to champion), and has never been as high since. The tournament was founded in 1983. Until 2003, this tournament was played over five rounds over several other courses. Tiger Woods recorded his first PGA Tour win here in 1996.
The tournament announced that the Shriners Hospitals for Children would take over the operations of the tournament, and that the Las Vegas Founders, a volunteer group, would no longer be involved with the event. Fry's Electronics, chief presenting sponsor in 2006 and 2007, also ended their association with this event, choosing to concentrate on a second tournament in Arizona that it was already sponsoring. On November 12, 2007, the PGA Tour announced that Timberlake would become host of the tournament, and also announced the event's new name. Timberlake, an avid golfer who plays to a 6 handicap, will play in the celebrity pro-am and host a benefit concert during the week of the tournament.
This event became the first PGA Tour event in history to offer a total prize purse of more than $1 million. A tradition at the tournament is presenting the trophy to the champion while two showgirls are a part of the pomp and circumstance.
The beginning of spring and the beginning of autumn are two very important junctions of climatic and solar influence. These two periods are taken as sacred opportunities for the worship of the Divine Mother. The dates of the festival are determined according to the lunar calendar.
In Hinduism the adherents believe in one omnipresent Deity but may worship Her/Him in any of the numerous manifestations that are prevalent all over India. Navaratri represents celebration of Goddess Durga, the manifestation of Deity in form of Shakti. Dasahara, meaning ‘ten days’, becomes dussehra in popular parlance. The Navaratri festival or ‘Nine Nights festival’ becomes ‘ten days festival’ with the addition of the last day, Vijayadashami which is its culmination. On all these ten days, the various forms of Mother Mahisasura-mardini are worshipped with fervour and devotion.

Many countries in the New World and elsewhere celebrate the anniversary of Christopher Columbus's arrival in the Americas, specifically the Bahamas, which occurred on October 12, 1492 in the Julian calendar and October 21, 1492 in the modern Gregorian calendar, as an official holiday. The day is celebrated as Columbus Day in the United States, as Día de la Raza in many countries in the Americas, as Día de las Culturas (Day of the Cultures) in Costa Rica, as Discovery Day in the Bahamas, as Día de la Hispanidad and Fiesta Nacional in Spain and as Día de las Américas (Day of the Americas) in Uruguay. These holidays have been celebrated unofficially since the late 18th century, and officially in various countries since the early 20th century.

Thanksgiving is a statutory holiday in most jurisdictions of Canada, with the provinces of Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia being the exceptions. Where a company is regulated by the federal government (such as those in the telecommunications and banking sectors), it is recognized regardless of status provincially.
As a liturgical festival, Thanksgiving corresponds to the English and continental-
While the actual Thanksgiving holiday is on a Monday, Canadians might eat their Thanksgiving meal on any day of the three-day weekend, though Sunday and Monday are the most common. While Thanksgiving is usually celebrated with a large family meal, it is also often a time for weekend getaways. The Thanksgiving weekend, given that it invariably falls at the very end of the summer, is traditionally a perfect time to put away the patio furniture, close the cottage and pull the boat up, thus getting ready for the long cold winter.

This live web cam feed is in Chicago on th day of the marathon:
This race has been run every year since the September 25, 1977 running of the first race under the original name the Mayor Daley Marathon drew a field of 4200 runners. It is among the fastest growing marathon road races in the world, due in part to its largely fast and flat course which facilitates the pursuit of personal records and world record performances. The race has achieved its elite status among marathons by developing relationship with sponsors who provide prize money to lure elite runners who have produced American and world record performances.
There is no qualifying time to participate in the Chicago Marathon, but only runners who finish within 6½ hours are officially timed. The race is limited to 45,000 runners on a first-come, first-served basis. Although the race has limited registration, exceptions include elite runners and charity representatives. Increasingly, local (e.g., Chicago's Children's Memorial Hospital), national (e.g., American Cancer Society) and global (e.g., Global Business Assist, British Red Cross, Asha for Education, World Vision) charities and humanitarian organizations encourage sponsored participation in the event as a means of fund raising. The marathon starts and ends at Grant Park. From here, the current course winds through 29 of the city's neighborhoods.

Most Ironman events have a strict time limit of 17 hours to complete the race, where the Ironman race starts at 7 AM, the mandatory swim cut off for the 2.4 mile swim is 2 hours 20 minutes, the bike cut off time is 5:30 PM, and all finishers must complete their marathon by midnight. The time limit to complete the race for Ironman Japan is 15 hours.
Ironman Triathlon became known for its grueling length, harsh race conditions, and television coverage.
This live feed is at Suzuka throughout the F1 weekend:
The Japanese Grand Prix is a race in the calendar of the FIA Formula One World Championship. Traditionally one of the last, if not the last race of the season, the Japanese Grand Prix has been the venue for many title-deciding races, with 12 World Champions being crowned over the 24 Japanese Grands Prix that have been hosted.
The first two Japanese Grands Prix in 1976 and 1977 were held at the Fuji Speedway, before Japan was taken off the calendar. It returned in 1987 at Suzuka, who hosted the Grand Prix exclusively for 20 years and gained a reputation as one of the most challenging F1 circuits. In 2007 the Grand Prix moved back to the newly redesigned Fuji Speedway. After a second race at Fuji in 2008, the race returned to Suzuka in 2009.
The Japanese Grand Prix was supposed to continue alternating between Fuji Speedway and Suzuka Circuit, owned by perennial rivals Toyota and Honda, respectively. There had been speculation that both tracks would host Grands Prix, with the readoption of the Pacific Grand Prix moniker used by the TI Circuit when it hosted Grands Prix in 1994 and 1995. The race made Japan one of only six countries to host more than one Grand Prix in the same season (the others being Great Britain, Spain, Germany, Italy and the USA). It was discontinued primarily due to its location in a remote area of Japan.

This live feed will capture all the action throughout the championship:
The tournament is a pro-am, with teams of one professional and one amateur playing one round each at St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns. Following these first three rounds there is a cut, with the leading 60 professionals continuing on to play in the final round at St Andrews. They are joined by the leading 20 teams, regardless of whether the professional member of the team made the cut individually.
Originally called the Dunhill Links Championship, the event was introduced in 2001 as a replacement for the Alfred Dunhill Cup, a three man team tournament which became marginalised when the long established World Cup of Golf was given enhanced status as part of the World Golf Championships in 2000, becoming the WGC-World Cup.
To increase interest in the event, many of the amateurs are well known personalities from the worlds of sport and entertainment. These have included Nigel Mansell, Ian Botham, Gary Lineker, Boris Becker, Michael Douglas, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Vaughan, Sir Matthew Pinsent, and Hugh Grant. The closest equivalent to the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on the PGA Tour is the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

The Strip in Las Vegas is one of the busiest and most well known party locations in the world. Several decades ago, Las Vegas Boulevard South was called Arrowhead Highway, or Los Angeles Highway. The Strip was reportedly named by Los Angeles police officer Guy McAfee, after his hometown's Sunset Strip.
One of the most visible aspects of Las Vegas' cityscape is its use of dramatic architecture. The modernization of hotels, restaurants, and residential high-rises on the Strip has established the city as one of the most popular destinations for tourists
This live webcam feed is watching the Eiffel Tower 24 hours a day:
The Eiffel Tower, which is the tallest building in Paris, is the single most visited paid monument in the world; millions of people ascend it every year. Named after its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel, the tower was built as the entrance arch for the 1889 World's Fair.
The tower stands at 324 m (1,063 ft) tall, about the same height as an 81-story building. It was the tallest structure in the world from its completion until 1930, when it was eclipsed by the Chrysler Building in New York City. Not including broadcast antennas, it is the second-tallest structure in France, behind the Millau Viaduct, completed in 2004.
The tower has three levels for visitors. Tickets can be purchased to ascend either on stairs or lifts to the first and second levels. The walk to the first level is over 300 steps, as is the walk from the first to the second level. The third and highest level is accessible only by lift. Both the first and second levels feature restaurants.
