Bumbershoot Webcam, Seattle Music and Arts Festival Live Feed

Bumbershoot is an annual international music and arts festival held in Seattle, Washington. One of North America's largest such festivals, it takes place every Labor Day weekend at the 74 acre Seattle Center.

This live feed is at the NY Quiksilver Pro:

Event Information:

Bumbershoot began as a city-funded arts and music festival called "Mayor's Arts Festival", also known as "Festival '71", held at Seattle Center on August 13–15, 1971. This event had a total attendance of 125,000 visitors. Amidst the local economic depression triggered by the near collapse of Boeing, the festival attempted to revive local spirits, and was the largest event held in Seattle Center since the 1962 World's Fair. Talk radio host Irving Clark Jr. chaired the fair committee, and avant-garde impresario Anne Focke used one-fifth of that for light shows (which incorporated lasers, still something of a novelty at that time), computer graphics, enormous inflatable soft sculptures by the Land Truth Company, and an electronic jam session. Other events included dance, theater, folk music, arts and crafts, art cars, body painting, a Miss Hot Pants Contest, amateur motorcycle races, and one out-of-town performer: country singer Sheb Wooley.

Seattle Center is a park and arts and entertainment center in Seattle, Washington. The 74-acre (300,000 m2) campus is the site used in 1962 by the Century 21 Exposition. It is located just north of Belltown in the Lower Queen Anne neighborhood. Bumbershoot has signed numerous key national sponsors, including Rockstar Energy Drink and Starbucks, whose name was attached to key presentation venues (the "Rockstar Vert Ramp"). The apparent attempt at co-opting media outlets to advertise for the sponsors prompted local newsweekly The Stranger to refer to selected events with their sponsor-attached names redacted. This is despite the fact that The Stranger is also a Bumbershoot sponsor.

Perth Marathon 2011 Live Cam Stream

Perth is the home of the Perth marathon. This year will be the 33rd anniversary of the Perth Marathon that has been conducted annually by the West Australian Marathon Club since its inception in 1979.

This live feed is in Perth for the marathon:

Perth Marathon live

Event Information:

The event starts and finishes at the WAMC Headquarters at the Burswood Water Sports Centre with a very picturesque course following the river on the shared paths through East Perth, South Perth, along the Freeway path to Canning Bridge, then following the riverside paths to Troy Park in Applecross and then returns.

The Swan River estuary flows through the city of Perth, in the south west of Western Australia. Its lower reaches are relatively wide and deep, with few constrictions, while the upper reaches are usually quite narrow and shallow. The Swan River drains the Avon and coastal plain catchments, which have a total area of about 121,000 km2. It has three major tributaries, the Avon River, Canning River and Helena River. The latter two have dams (Canning Dam and Mundaring Weir) which provide a sizeable part of the potable water requirements for Perth and the regions surrounding. The Avon River contributes the majority of the freshwater flow. The climate of the catchment is Mediterranean, with mild wet winters, hot dry summers, and the associated highly seasonal rainfall and flow regime.

The Avon rises near Yealering, 100 km southeast of Perth: it meanders north-northwest to Toodyay about 90 km northeast of Perth, then turns southwest in Walyunga National Park - at the confluence of the Wooroloo Brook, it becomes the Swan River. The Canning River rises not far from North Bannister, 100 km southeast of Perth and joins the Swan at Applecross, opening into Melville Water. The river then narrows into Blackwall Reach, a narrow and deep stretch leading the river through Fremantle Harbour to the sea.

Perth Skyworks Live Feed

The Skyworks show usually runs for half an hour and have involved fireworks launched from bridges, sky scrapers and moving boats in the past. The fireworks are choreographed to a soundtrack which is played on the radio while the fireworks are underway. Many people travel into the inner-city to watch the Skyworks but many people can also be found watching the show from the top of hills and bridges that provide a view even from kilometres away. The Skyworks started in 1985, and now are one of the most popular events in Perth. Some people camp out from early morning to get the best view. Good viewing points are South Perth, Kings Park, and the Perth foreshore. In 2005 and 2006 onwards, Foti Fireworks were in charge of the fireworks. In 2007, Howard and Sons were responsible for the fireworks and Laser System Europe were responsible for the new laser show.

The City of Perth Skyworks are currently sponsored by the City of Perth, Channel Seven and Mix 94.5. There is usually a delayed telecast of the Skyworks on Seven. The soundtrack is broadcast twice by Mix 94.5, to be synchronised with both the fireworks and the TV broadcast.
